Thomas Delapa

Biography

Thomas Delapa is currently Film Studies lead faculty member at Regis University's College for Professional Studies in Denver. He has also taught undergraduate film courses at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Denver, the University of Denver, Regis College, Metropolitan State College, Chapman University (Denver), and the Colorado Film School. From 1998 to 2008, he was Film Series Curator at the Denver Art Museum, and was guest film curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art-Denver from 2001-2003. Since 1986, he has written on film, theater, and television for such publications as the Chicago Tribune, Boulder Weekly (CO), Westword (Denver), and Fort Collins Now (CO). In 2006, he received the first- and second-place awards from the Colorado chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists for Arts and Entertainment Criticism. He also has been film critic for such National Public Radio affiliates as WBEZ-FM in Chicago and KUVO-FM in Denver, as well as KWAB in Boulder, CO. His past work in the film and television field includes positions at the Museum of the Moving Image and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in New York City and Charles Fries Productions in Los Angeles. His two Master's degrees are from New York University (Cinema Studies) and the University of Chicago (Social Sciences. His B.A. is in political science from the University of Colorado. ###
