Biography

Matthew Bolton hails from Orlando, Florida, where from a young age he displayed a passion for filmmaking-using the family video camera to make home movies. When he was age 15, he negotiated his way onto a music video set as assistant to one of the shoot's producers despite his age. He continued shooting short films and writing scripts throughout his high school career, and upon graduation, Matthew started attending Valencia Community College in pursuit of a Film degree. He was given his first full-fledged film opportunity while still in college and jumped at the chance, quitting school and starting his company, Splashdown Productions. Matthew started as a production manager at a commercial house in Central Florida, which he quickly parlayed into writing and directing four national commercials for health food clients, the Walt Disney Co, and many others. In 2006, at the tender age of nineteen, Matthew moved to Los Angeles, CA to start working in the film industry. More recently, Matthew has produced six direct-to-DVD feature films and has written and directed the TV series pilot, "Havoc." Matthew's films can be seen on the big screen, as well as on the SyFy channel or streamed on Netflix and other digital sites. Many of Matt's influences include: Steven Spielberg, George A. Romero, John Landis, Wes Craven, David Fincher, Stanley Kubrick, Ron Howard, Michael Bay, Andrew Kevin Walker, Kevin Smith, Dan Aykroyd, and John Belushi.
