Carrie Brewer

Carrie has been choreographing fights and teaching stage combat for 13 years. Drawing on her experience as a martial artist, stunt performer and actor, she has worked her way up from being fight captain on the Disney Cruise Line back in 1997 to staging fights at places like Cherry Lane, EST, Treasure Island Casino, The Wild Project, PS 122, Pulse Ensemble Theatre, and for independent theater companies all over New York City. Carrie has been on the full-time stage combat staff at AMDA - New York for the past 10 years and also has also taught at the Yale School of Drama, New York Univeristy, School for Film and TV, and many organizations like Broadway Classroom and Field Studies International where she teaches stage fighting to students from all over the world. She has extensive training in many different fight styles, including period sword-fighting in many variations and the Eastern martial arts, Taekwando, Hapkido and Kendo.
