Biography

From the age of 7, Kya enjoyed classes in ballet and tap, where her teacher said one day her name would be up in lights! Kya went on to dance at many fashion and beauty award shows as well as featured dancing in the feature Mamma Mia Here We Go Again. Dancing and Musical Theatre was always Kya's passion, but opportunities and finances never allowed that progression. In 1994 she attend the Anna Scher Theatre School, followed by Kensington & Chelsea College, Achieving a Distinction in Performing Arts. Continued further mastering her craft with short courses at, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and across the pond to Los Angeles USA to study with the renowned acting guru Margie Haber, Diane Charles and Phyllis Katz. Kya won several local and international beauty pageants but preferred being on the other side, so she threw in her sash in order to present the shows. Her first TV appearance as a featured presenter was in Channel 4's Comedy Lab "Best of British" alongside the late Mike Morris. In 2007 Kya was offered a stand-in and double role, not knowing what this involved she was chosen to work on major features, this then lead to standing in for many artiste on many movies. Kya used this as a perfect stepping stone to learn her craft in a working environment. Kya has appeared in cameo "bit part" roles in Nanny McPhee 2, 24:Live Another Day and Paddington 2. Her perseverance and passion is beginning to pay off as Kya is about to debut in her first ever major acting role in the US movie.
