Biography

As Head of Development and Production at Stories International, Inc., Evan J. Cholfin focuses on adapting SEGA's video game properties and other Japanese stories into live action and animated film, TV series, and digital entertainment. Evan spearheads Stories' US-based branded entertainment division, connecting Hollywood talent directly to Hakuhodo DY Group's major international brand clients to create content for Asian and worldwide markets. Additionally, Evan runs Stories' commercial and literary management division, providing creator clients direct access to Japanese IP for English-language adaptation, as well as career guidance and strategic brand management. He was most recently Director, Entertainment Development for Break Media, the single largest creator and distributor of male-targeted content online, reaching an audience of more than 200 million people through video and editorial content. While there, he produced and oversaw a slate of film, TV and premium digital content, including sci-fi action thriller "Higher Power", which he produced with Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Transformers" franchise), as well as "Prototype", a filmmaker competition partnered with New Regency to discover the next great filmmaking talent. He also produced over one hundred commercials and branded content for dozens of top international brands. Prior to that, he worked in development for Oscar-winning screenwriter and filmmaker Steven Zaillian (who wrote "Schindler's List" and "American Gangster"). Before this, Evan also worked at Creative Artists Agency. He is a graduate of UCLA and received his Masters in Motion Picture Producing from the USC School of Cinematic Arts Peter Stark Producing Program.
