Mauro D' Addio is a Brazilian writer and director, he is based in São Paulo and has a bachelor degree in Communication Studies, Specialization in Cinema at Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP, 2003). In 2017 he released his debut on feature fiction film, with the coming of age drama "On Wheels", the film was awarded with the People's Choice Award for Favorite Feature on Tiff Kids (Toronto, Canada), it was also on competition for the Stockholm International Film Festival and others. On 2016 he released the short documentary "Kunumi, The Native Thunder", finalist Prix Jeunesse Munich 2016 (Germany), and won Best Youth Documentary Short at Divercine (Uruguay). He released the book "A Menina do Mar" (2015), based on his youth fiction short "Fish of the Day" (Brazil, 2010). Selected for São Paulo Short Film Festival and finalist on ComKids Prix Jeunesse Iberoamericano 2013. On 2012 he released the short stop-motion animation "Hill of Eternal War", exhibited on FICI (Brazil) and others. Released the short documentary "Altiplano Pari" (2009), exhibited for the São Paulo Film Festival. "Disorder" (Brazil, 2005) was his second professional fiction short, on competition at Gramado Film Festival, São Paulo Short Film Festival (Brazil, 2006), Hamburg Short Film Festival, Interfilm, Cologne Film Festival, Wiesbaden Film Festival (Germany, 2006), Caracas Short Film Festival (Venezuela, 2006), Siena Short Film Festival (Italy, 2006), Prague Short Film Festival (Czech Republic, 2006), Pushon International Fantastic Film Festival (South Korea, 2006) and got mention of honor for best short at Santa Maria da Feira Film Festival (Portugal, 2005) and won Best Cinematography at Vitória Film Festival (Brazil, 2005). "Unveiled Mary" was his first professional fiction/ experimental short and won Revelation Prize at São Paulo Short Film Festival (Brazil, 2004), Best Experimental Short at Espinho Youth Festival (Portugal, 2004), was in completion on Hamburg Short Film Festival (Germany, 2004), Belgrade Short Film Festival (Serbia, 2004), Drama Short Film Festival (Greece, 2004) and others.
