Thomas Mathiesen

Norwegian-born sociologist Thomas Mathiesen began his career at 20, when he went to the U.S. in order to study sociology. He returned to Norway a few years later, and was appointed professor of sociology of law in 1972 at the University of Oslo, Norway. Mathiesen has written a number of non-fiction books related to sociology since 1965, many of which have been translated into several languages.
