Born in Durham, North Carolina, Edward Tyndall was the bassist for the 1980s punk band The Celibate Commandos. While still living in Durham, Tyndall wrote the underground political poetry series The Fruits of the Holy System. Tyndall received a BA in History and Classical Civilization and his commission as an Armor Officer in the US Army prior to earning his MFA in Film. Tyndall's films have screened in top international film festivals including the Tribeca and London Film Festivals. He runs the South Texas Cinémathèque screening series, and is a founding member of the production company Mobius Films. Tyndall is also a faculty member in the School of Arts, Media and Communication at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi, where he works as a filmmaker and teaches film production.
