Director and Producer. Has a degree in Visual Ethnology and also studied African art, a topic so dear to him that he shot various documentary's & published two books on the subject in the 90's. He has been working as a freelance reporter and a cameraman since the late 80's, then started producing and directing fiction and documentaries in 1992. In 1996 he founded Imago Orbis, and has been playing the role of writer, director, producer, cinematographer and editor depending on the case. In 1997 Mario won the Ilaria Alpi Prize for Journalism, and 10 years later the Franco Cristaldi Prize for the best Italian Producer of the year, for the Giorgio Diritti movie The Wind Blows Round.
