Biography

Curtis Simmons, picked up the name Gideon during his pledge period while on-line for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Originally from Philadelphia, Gideon returned to Philly, from a internship in New York, and hit the club promotions scene. He also spent time as a street team promoter for Universal Records and Def Jam. Gideon, possesses a degree in Television/Film Directing and embarked on a career in indie filmmaking and music video producing shortly after finishing a long stint promoting local Philly artists such as The Roots, Jill Scott, and the RAM Squad. He soon connected with Jersey famed MC, Robert "Bobbie Fine" Humbert and was drafted to shoot the release video "Le Pu Pu" from the Sworn Secrecy album on Ruffhouse Records. Gideon went straight into shooting several other shorts and music videos in the Philadelphia Tri State Area and in the summer of 2001 wrote, produced, and directed the straight to video urban classic "Bachelor Party: Overexposed", distributed by Maverick Entertainment and co-produced by Devon "Bigga" Moore, and Doug Schwab. Gideon has since been on the cutting edge scene in Philly working on various projects as both consultant and business advisor to a large source crowd of Philadelphia filmmakers and music executives.
