D.K. Holm was born in Portland, Oregon in 1953. From 1985 to 1995, he was the movie reviewer for Willamette Week newspaper, and then from 1995 to 1999, the movie reviewer for PDXS newspaper. His DVD reviews have appeared at the DVDJournal.com, DVDTalk.com, and at BinaryFlix.com. Currently, he writes for Kevin Smith's website, MoviePoopShoot.com. He has published five books, two on the cartoonist R. Crumb, two on Quentin Tarantino, and one on aspect of film noir called film soleil. He has also appeared in a video project directed by Miranda July, as well as in the films The Would Be Senators and a documentary about the Portland nightclub The X-Ray Cafe.
