Eileen Mayers

Eileen Mayers played the part of Sheila Crossley, née Birtles, in Coronation Street (1960) between 1961 and 1974. She debuted in the programme in Episode 8 having previously played the role of Linda Cheveski in one of the dry runs. Born in Oldham, Eileen appeared in amateur theatre at Ashton-under-Lyne as well as in the Oldham Repertory Company before appearing in Coronation Street. Her other credits include I'm Not Bothered and Keep It in the Family.
