Bobbie Esra Geelmuyden Pertan

Bobbie is a Turkish/Norwegian film editor and still photographer living in Copenhagen. As a versatile film editor with a wide range of experience, she has edited documentaries, fiction films and consulted on several projects. Born and raised in Istanbul into a multi-cultural family of filmmakers, she was already from an early age immersed into a cinematic world of acting, filmmaking and storytelling. While attending French school from kindergarten to high school, her free time was spent watching her parents at work, helping out with the productions and sometimes acting small parts in their films. Through her father, a well-respected scriptwriter and director and her mother, a production designer and producer, Bobbie was infused with a passion for visual storytelling and art by all it forms, that would later make her pursue a career in the film industry. In her own words: "For me editing is musicality, rhythm, perception and sensitivity composed by bits and pieces of reality and fantasy." Studying at the film and TV department of Nordic Institute of Scene and Stage (NISS) in Oslo, she decided to pursue film editing full time and moved to Copenhagen, where she graduated from the Department of Editing at The National Filmschool of Denmark in 2009. Since then, Bobbie has collaborated with independent filmmakers in Norway and Denmark on feature films, documentaries, short films, art films and music video. She made her directorial debut with the documentary: "The Colours of Cultural Diversity" in 2010 - a film about the cultural heritage of Istanbul.
