Billy 'Crash' Craddock

Biography

Singer Billy "Crash" Craddock was Columbia Records' attempt to have its own Elvis Presley in the late 1950s; however, he only managed a couple of very low-charting singles. Craddock left show business in the 1960s but returned in 1971 to make his mark as a successful country singer, and some 15 years after his first recordings he had his biggest pop/rock successes when his country hits "Rub it In" and "Ruby Baby" crossed over into the pop top 40.
