Biography

Michael David Selig (aka M.D. Selig) hails from Hot Springs, Arkansas. Selig's first feature as Writer/Director/Lead Actor (Southern Justice) was distributed by ThinkFilm and placed in all major video outlets. Southern Justice also completed a 1.5 year run on Showtime and is available on Netflix! (DVD rental only) May 2018: Selig recently directed Josh Duhamel (Transformers/ Taco Bell) in a commercial campaign for the new "Iron Throne" video game released by Netmarble. Selig wrote and directed all nine commercials featuring Mr. Duhamel. Selig's newest web-series (The Gunrunner Billy Kane) was released on Vimeo in December of 2017. Selig is the Series Creator as well as Writer/Director/Producer. Cycle two of the series is due in October of 2018. The Gunrunner Billy Kane (aka GBK) is a futuristic Sci-Fi western series. Series regulars include Angela Elayne Gibbs, John Kassir, Mark Arnold, Bella King and Julianna Robinson among others. Selig plays the lead character, rogue doctor-Billy Kane. Primarily an actor, Selig recently had a speaking role in Zero Dark Thirty and continues to perform in various independent film projects. He received his B.A. in History at the University of Arkansas with a minor in theater. Upon graduation he joined the US Marines and went through Navy flight training as a Marine Pilot. Selig flew the A-6E "Intruder" all-weather attack jet and is a decorated combat veteran of Desert Storm (43 combat missions) receiving the Air Medal with combat "V". Departing the military in 1993, Selig moved to Los Angeles to pursue a filmmaking career. He currently lives in Oakland California with his partner Capra J'neva and their five year old daughter Vyla. They enjoy going "off-grid" with friends to their small cabin in Big Sur where Capra builds incredible art for Burning Man and Vyla holds court on various hikes and adventures.
