Gregory Brian Cooke

Biography

Gregory Brian Cooke was born and raised on Chicago's South Side in the working class Chatamn-Avalon neighborhood. He grew up loving sports. He successfully competed in organized basketball, tennis, and baseball. He also studied piano for 3 years. Gregory has directed music videos and commercials. For 8 years he co-owned and operated Bronzeville Filmworks in Chicago. In 2004 Greg spent 30 days in Honolulu, Hawaii. The experience was life altering. It was here he began a quest to use his love of production to entertain, inform, and inspire. Exploring the world and sharing what he has learned with others is why he makes films. Greg's background has given him a unique world view that informs his work and provides him with an understanding of the human condition on many levels. Doctors, teachers, politicians, beauty queens, dope dealers, madams, immigrants, patriots, and preachers have all contributed to his experience. He is truly grateful to have known them all. Greg's goal is to be of service to others and share his love for filmmaking/media with the world. He has a brother John and a sister Kristen. Recently directed the short film "Let Old Ghost Rest" (2009). He attended Saint Ignatius College Prep and Tennessee State University.
