Nick Shumaker

Nick Shumaker works in the UTA Independent Film Group out of their NYC office. Over his four years at the company, he has worked on the financing and sales of festival breakouts and award winning films like Call Me By Your Name, Trophy, Submergence, The King whilst developing films from new talent like Donnybrook, Super Dark Times, and Beach Rats. Previously, he worked in acquisitions and production for Memento Films International and Paradise Cirtyhe has acquired for the company, produced, executive produced, and/or worked on the financing of films that have premiered and garnered awards in Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, Sundance, amongst others. Notable titles include Cold In July, Blue Ruin, We Are What We Are, Compliance, Short Term 12, V/H/S 2, Still Alice, Louder than Bombs, amongst others. He is a graduate of Georgetown University where he studied English and Theology, and began his career as a journalist, living in Cuba for just over four years.
