Biography

While performing the lead role, Eddie, in Twyla Tharp's Tony Award winning musical "Movin' Out"(Broadway & The National Tour), Ted was approached to be the Associate Choreographer on the long awaited revival of Bob Fosse's "Sweet Charity", starring Christina Applegate. Sweet Charity received numerous nominations including: Tony Awards for Best Choreography and Best Revival, Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Choreography, Best Direction, Best Musical and a Drama Desk Award for Best Musical. Other collaborations with acclaimed choreographer Wayne Cilento include the U.S. Tour of Copacabana, a musical with original scoring by Barry Manilow and Stratford Festival's production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To The Forum. Other Canadian choreography credits include Kiss Me Kate at the Sunshine Festival in Orillia and two seasons on CBC's "Triple Sensation" and The Rick Mercer Report. In Japan, Ted choreographed a national commercial and two National concert tours for Japan's biggest popstar Seiko Matsuda. Ted is also an accomplished performer most recently receiving a Gemini Award nomination for his performance of "Ben" in the dance film Year of the Lion. The film received critical acclaim in Canada as well as internationally. He was subsequently cast as "Paul" in From Time to Time: the Joni Mitchell Story, directed by Moze Mossanen and choreographed by Ginette Laurin. In 2012 he partnered Amanda Cleghorn in a featured duet on Canada's Got Talent choreographed by Paul Becker. Feature film credits include: Academy Award winner Chicago with Richard Gere and Catherine Zeta Jones, Hairspray with John Travolta and Blues Brothers 2000 starring Dan Akroyd and John Goodman. Ted has choreographed and performed in numerous commercials and live industrials for such companies as Molson's, Trident, Labatt's, Radio Shack, Visa, General Motors and The Ontario Gaming Corporation where he was the spokesperson for the "Millionaire's Month" lotto game.
