Rachel Howard

Biography

Rachel grew up in the entertainment business. Her grandmother Bea Terry started DJ Magazine in the 50's and owned Rondo Music (music publishing). Her father Don Howard was a booking agent, manager and producer in the music business (based in Hollywood) working with many artists including legends Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, George Jones and many others. He was also on the board of the Academy of Country Music. Rachel started showing horses at 3 years old and continued to do so when the family moved to Texas. She competed on a national and world level until her 20's when she decided to make a change. She went to college, graduating Magna Cum Laude, learning how to shoot and edit footage and working in front and behind the camera. She got on a dance team, started modeling and doing commercials and did some print work with Hawaiian Tropic. She moved to LA in 2002 to work with Dick Clark Productions. The company went through a merger so she ended up working for a Music/Film Management company reading scripts and doing coverage which inspired her to start writing her own scripts. She went back to her music roots and worked for BMG Music for a couple of years until she realized that the corporate world was not for her. An offer came up to script supervise a film so she jumped in with both feet and never looked back. Rachel worked consistently for many years until the writers strike. She then started working for Redrock Micro, as well as focusing on her own projects. She just directed her first short film that she also wrote called 'Sins of the Father'.
