Biography

Born in Chicago in 1971, John Conley began directing at the age of seven using his younger bother and his sister's dolls as the actors in his stage plays. But it wasn't until his last year of high school when his stories caught the attention of his electronic major classmates, that he decided to pursue his talent. His film, "The Life of a Gun" earned a Best Dramatic short award and his three-part teleplay for a PSA series, "Society Calls" earned him a Roy W. Dean Grant. Shortly after graduating from Columbia College Chicago, John wrote and directed his first feature film, "2 Brothers in a dope Car" which caught the attention of Lynn Auerbach, the associate director of the Sundance Institute's Feature Film Program.
