Mr. Ruoff was employed as a a metallurgist at General Electric, Schenectady before retiring. He was a member of several Masonic Lodges consisting of over 60 years of service; a veteran of World War II serving as a Staff Sergeant with the 11th Armored Division; member of Stony Clove Rod and Gun Club, Lanesville, member and volunteer for Boy Scouts Troop 23 and Rotterdam Little League, both of Schenectady. He was very active in the Methoist Church, Lanevsille and Broadway Methodist both of Schenectady. He was an avid Historian constantly researching and sharing the history of the Catskills, often considered an expert. He was also an avid outdoorsmen enjoying fishing, hiking and hunting. He is fathered 3 children, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
