Thomas J. Starich

Thomas J Starich grew up in Southeastern Wisconsin. He has been interested in filmmaking since he was very young. He directed and produced a sundry of short films with a VHS camcorder, borrowed from his grandfather. These movies were often simple, yet many utilized camera angles, editing techniques, and even stop motion. It was rare to see him without that camera on his shoulder. And all of this was before he finished elementary school. In his senior year of high school, Starich landed a major role in the production, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." His first parlay into entertainment was a grand success. After high school, Starich spent several years away from the craft he loved so much. He was continuously writing, but had given in to the demands of every day life. By early 2002, he was working part-time as a security officer and attending college. But then in June of 2002, a tragic event changed his life forever. The world as he had known it would never be the same. School no longer had the appeal it once did. Working in private security no longer held the same prestige. He began to question everything that had seemed so certain, including existence itself. He spent the next several months trying to find something that would give his life meaning once again. Unfortunately, everything he did seemed pointless. He was now failing at school and unemployed. Then, purely by accident, he found himself involved in a full-length independent film. He soon realized filmmaking was the one thing he had been searching for. He has often said his vision of his place in this life has become crystal clear. He has vowed sleep will not come easily until he is out there making the movies that entertain the world.
