Joanna Parson grew up in Hampton, Connecticut. She went to the University of Virginia, was a founding member of Cincinnati Shakespeare, and now lives in New York City. In addition to her work as an actress on TV and independent film, she writes comedy and was a contributor to "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Jokes." She has written and directed for the Iron Mule Short Comedy Film Festival, and created multiple musical comedy cabarets. With Elizabeth Inghram, she co-created the feminist musical comedy "Not Helpful: pretty songs and feminine harms" (2019).
