Anelle McCarty

Biography

Anelle only appeared in three movies during her time in Hollywood. She had a contract with MGM for the run of The Vanishing Virginian, and was to be given screen credit, but she fumbled a scene by dropping a very large cat; the cat ran down the street and someone yelled, "Stop that cat! He's worth $2000!" and she was not given the screen credit. When MGM called later, she had whooping cough, which symptoms lasted for some months. By the time she recovered, she had begun to dislike the acting business, and reluctantly her parents understood. She later graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, and was awarded a Master of Library Science degree from that same university. In 1991, she wrote a memoir: "My First Sixteen Years: A Memoir of Texas and Hollywood". She married artist and teacher Theodore Kloski and lived with him and their children in Northern California, later moving to Florida.
