Matthew Esterhuizen grew up in South Africa and at the age of 12 started using computers to create CGI graphics.
After he finished a short spell in the Royal College of Art in Cape Town he started a work experience for two weeks at Atomic VFX . After two weeks Atomic VFX offered Matthew a job and so his careers started working under Sharlto Copely. After three years he started his first Production company and in three years he relocated to London where after working for Playstation for one year he opened a new production company called DHP where he would go on to run for seven years. Here he Directed many commercials for Adidas,Nike,MTV as well as SKY. After the seven years Matthew wanted more freedom and went on a seven month sabbatical around the globe and on his return decided to set out to direct as a freelancer and work as a VFX Supervisor on more mainstream films.
