Baret Sarmazian

Baret (Bart) Sarmazian is a Canadian animator born in Bekaa Valley, Lebanon to Armenian parents. He has been doodling and sketching on walls and sidewalks since he was three. After drawing and designing most of the art for the school's year book, and winning an award for it; he graduated from high school with top marks in the visual arts and graphic design. Bart's animation journey began at Sheridan college in Oakville, Ontario in 1999. Focusing on traditional, hand drawn animation and layout, he graduated Sheridan College in 2002. The summer of that year; Bart started his animation career in Peterborough, Ontario, in a small studio ran by his college roommates Barney Wornoff and colleague Steve Wolfhard. Shortly after a year in Peterborough, in 2004, Bart moved back to Toronto and with a help of a college friend, he studied (At that time Macromedia) Flash animation. Since 2004, he has worked on many popular cartoon series' in several major animation studios across Canada from Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto to Vancouver. After moving back to Ontario from Vancouver BC, in January 2016, Bart made his permanent home near Toronto, where he continues to work in freelance and full time Flash and Harmony animation projects.
