Once I transitioned from game journalism to communications in 2012, all of my endeavors took place behind the scenes. Working with top-level press from Entertainment Weekly and The Wall Street Journal to Venture Beat, PC Gamer, IGN, Edge, Polygon and others, I've pitched and secured magazine covers, company documentaries, and profile-raising industry feature stories. My goal is to work hand-in-hand with media to create real stories, genuine engagement and memorable content.
Before working in PR, I wrote stories about games and the people who make them. I was the first managing editor for Next Generation Magazine and one of the founding editor at IGN. I've launched, founded, and co-founded several publications, broken major game news stories, secured dozens of exclusives, appeared on TV, and reviewed games with brutal honesty. I was instrumental in the PR push to attract a broader audience to Warframe, the ultra-successful looter shooter from Digital Extremes, during its peak.
During a freelance transition period, I consulted on dozens of titles for AAA publishers including EA, Ubisoft, Warner Bros., LucasArts, Take-Two, Sega, and more. In an earlier life, I wrote and published poetry and short stories.
When I'm not working, I spend time adoring my wife and children, playing beach volleyball, surfing, backpacking, playing games, reading, cooking and gardening.
