Biography

Maryellen Goebel was born in Houston, Texas on December 9th, 1924. She was the daughter of William E. Goebel, an executive for Howard Hughes, and Norine Goebel, Cooncert Pianist and Businesswoman. Maryellen started in show-business 1n 1944 at the age of 13, performing with her sister, Polly Bond, as a western singing act called "The Darling Sisters". Maryellen performed with the USO visiting hospitals, and army bases all over the western Untied States. Maryellen then started in her own show with her sister called "The Rangeriders" on KTTV in Los Angeles in 1949, in the "Then" fledgling television industry. Maryellen also was a charter member of the new "TVA" union which would become "AFTRA". She also was the co-founder, and entertainment spokesperson along with her sister Polly for the Hollywood "Toys For Tots" drive in Los Angeles. Maryellen married twice, once in 1946, and once in 1960. Maryellen was a Vice President in the film company of her nephew Thomas R. Bond II, the 'American Mutoscope & Biograph Co. [us], and worked behind the scenes on the film Bob's Night Out (2004). Maryellen recently passed away, but her kindness towards children and everyone will be remembered, and missed.
