Biography

Ivana Shein is a second generation Canadian playwright and actor. The debut of her one woman play, Faking It, was selected to be performed at Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. Emmy nominee Richard J. Lewis (Westworld, CSI) directed Ms. Shein in a subsequent production at The Comedy Central stage in Los Angeles. Her short play, Single, was produced by LA's IAMA Theatre Company, with The Blacklist's Amir Arison directing. Ms. Shein has also acted in numerous television and web series, short and feature films and currently recurs on Shonda Rhimes ABC series, Station 19. The Company Theatre in Toronto is developing her full length play, The Lovers, inspired by Chagall's portrait of love made eternal by a kiss. Toronto is Ms. Shein's hometown. She earned her degree at The National Theatre School of Canada graduate playwriting program.
