George Stewart

George Eugene Stewart was born in Chicago Illinois in 1915, and was the son of George Stewart Sr. of Edinburgh Scotland, and Bridget Mary Dowling of Kildare Ireland (Stage name Mae Bruce). Both of George's parents were in the movie industry, as was George's older sister Mary. George was married to the beautiful dancer, Amanda Louise Dieterich, whom he met while filming "On Thin Ice" with Sonja Henie. Subsequently, they were in several of Miss Henie's movies together. The tall, dignified and very handsome Mister Stewart was well loved by all who ever knew him, and beloved of his five children and his niece. Cesear Romeo once said of the younger Stewarts, "I don't know which of you is the better looking, you are the most beautiful boy and girl in Hollywood."
