Klatann Thomas

Biography

Born in Compton, California Klatann Thomas is the youngest of eight children. His formative years were spent primarily reading voraciously, watching films & television [thanks to his mother] and imitating his favorite comedians (Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx and George Carlin) [thanks to his father]. He joined the US Army (Special Operations) at 18 and participated in a range of conflicts and deployments around the world (Panama, the Persian Gulf, Africa, Haiti and Bosnia, among others). Highly decorated and feeling under-appreciated, he departed from the military after 12 years. Klatann worked a stifling corporate level job in Los Angeles before finally deciding to take his chance at acting by enrolling at the Victory Theatre Center as well as graduating from the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy in California. Klatann is a versatile actor who can play comedy as well as drama. Most often he finds his roles expanded as directors and writers take a liking to him and his approach toward the character and the work. He has performed in a variety of roles film and theater. Klatann's "look", wide range of natural ability and quality training have allowed him to portray "real life" characters from a 1950s guitar-playing-Cowboy to Thomas, the Apostle to a New York Magazine Editor. The forward momentum of his career can easily be attributed to following his early influences, Lee Marvin and James Coburn. Very much like his models, Klatann "gets in the skin" of character leads and supporting players who are seen as rough-edged, intelligent rebels, who possess infectious charm and owns them.
