Irasj Asanti I is Kurdish Iranian, but grew up in Norway. He graduated with a degree in acting from the Nordic Black Theater School in Oslo, and currently works as a writer, actor and director. He has acted in a number of successful Norwegian movies. He has written and directed several short films and series that have been shown at festivals and television around the world. In 2015, he directed the feature film HØVDINGER, which in 2017 was nominated for the Kanonprisen and shown in cinemas. His latest short film, KNUS MEG, won Blikk's Audience Award during the Oslo / Fusion International Film Festival 2019.
