Biography

Robert X. Golphin is an American award-winning actor-filmmaker-screenwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He garnered a "Best Actor" win and nomination at the July 2020 Screen Power Film Festival and Top Indie Film Awards respectively, for his role in the multi award-winning drama Essential (2020). He is best known for his portrayal of Dunbar Reed in the Golden Globe nominated The Great Debaters (2007). Robert is the author of the novella, "Cold Night In A Warm Season" (April 2021). A member of SAG/AFTRA, Robert also holds an MFA in Screenwriting (Spalding University), B.A. in Theatre & Film (Magna Cum Laude, Saint Augustine's University) and Diploma in Creative Writing (Philadelphia H.S. for Creative & Performing Arts).
