Joe Hampson was best known as a member of the Canadian singing group The Travellers; he started out as a folksinger in a number of small vocal groups in the United States before meeting his soon-to-be third wife Sharon Trostin and subsequently moving to her native Canada where he became a member of The Travellers. Later, when Sharon became a member of the singing group Sharon, Lois & Bram, Joe came along, playing the string bass and writing songs for the trio (including the popular "We Have A Band."). He was a skilled carpenter and handyman and had a home renovation business as well as constructing movie props. However, he continued singing and making music almost to the day of his death.
