Summer Menkee

Biography

Summer Rain Menkee is the only child born to hippie parents Cinda Coffin-Shaffer and Victor Lionel Menkee in Corvallis, Oregon. She grew up on the Oregon Coast, in Lincoln City and Newport, which has shaped her melancholy love of rain, evergreens, haystack rocks, hiking and lighthouses. She was a community theatre kid from a young age, learning to dance and sing for stage roles. She won First Runner-up in the Miss Lincoln County Pageant, which she has been trying to move on from ever since (being 2nd choice- that is)! She studied acting at American Conservatory Theatre and Seattle Pacific University, comedy with Lesly Kahn and improv with Upright Citizen's Brigade in Los Angeles. She was a member of The Met Theatre, where two of her original One Act plays were produced. Summer co-wrote and starred in the award winning short film "Now Or Never." She is based in Atlanta and Los Angeles.
