Biography

His first position after leaving school (1979-1980) was as a stand by propsman on "The Young Doctors" a national drama series produced by Reg Grundy Productions for TCN Channel 9. During this period he completed stage 1 of the Television Operations Certificate of Proficiency (T.V.O.C.P), through the University Of Technology, Sydney where he received a B grade pass. For the past 15 years, he has been a freelance sound recordist in Sydney, Australia, London, England and Los Angeles, USA. For the past two years he has been based in Los Angeles. However, prior to this, he worked in London for nearly three and a half years. Before going freelance in Australia, he was contracted by TEN channel 10 Sydney, as a Floor manager (A grade) and studio cameraman (B grade) for a period of six months in 1986. During this time he worked predominantly in the studios, which included everything from "Good Morning Australia" (breakfast TV show) to evening and late night news. Before channel 10 he was employed by TCN channel 9 Sydney, as a floor / stage manager (B grade) cameraman (C grade) and pyrotechnician for a period of approximately five and a half years. During this period he covered all aspects of television production here and was virtually permanent on "The Mike Walsh Show" a daily live to air variety/talk show, where he also co-produced and presented a new products segment and associate-produced a major competition. While at Nine, he also worked on everything from Today show, news to special events, concerts, outside broadcasts and sport.
