Biography

From writing and directing to editing and design, Drew Umland is widely talented and has a broadly experienced within television and motion picture industry. He studied at the Miami University of Art and Design where he earned a BFA in Film and Video Production. Although trained in narrative, for many years his editing and design skills lead him to extensive work as a "Preditor" within the advertising world. Here he won many accolades and was personally involved in the production of over one thousand television commercials. He has performed work for such clients as Bud Light, K-Mart, Office Depot, Castrol, Florida Marlins Baseball, Florida Panthers Hockey and Miami Dolphins Football. In 2006, Drew left the largest advertising agency in the southeast to pursue his roots in narrative story telling. His diverse nature continued to be exhibited as he took on the role of Writer, Director and Senior Editor of the ESPN reality/competition series, The Metric Revolution Motorcycle Build Off. This competition has been dubbed "the greatest motorcycle build off in history" and has caught international notice. The first season began airing on March 31st, 2007 on ESPN2 and on it debut ranked the highest rated show in that block for the network. For Drew Umland this continues to be an ongoing project that he looks forward to being devoted to for years to come.
