Biography

Jonathan booked a number of short films and commercials in Arizona, and then moved to Los Angeles. During his first year in Los Angeles he booked a national commercial for Father's Day produced by Gillette and Nickelodeon. His first network television role was the antagonist in the Criminal Minds spin-off series, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, where he played Antonio Cayetan. This was followed by an appearance on Shameless as Dr. Ruiz, and a guest star on the long running procedural, NCIS, where he portrayed Navy Commander Ted Morgan. His first major recurring role was on season 2 of The Purge, where he portrayed Tommy Ortiz, a team member of Ryan Grant (played by Max Martini). His Film/TV credits include Offseason, The Laundromat, Colony, General Hospital, NCIS: New Orleans, The Young and the Restless, The Brave, and Westworld. He has performed at HERO Theatre, Eclectic theatre, Rogue Machine, Boston Court, and Antaeus, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Los Angeles Fringe Festival. Jonathan resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Jennifer Lee Laks.
