Ben Brennan was born to Jane and Michael Brennan, and raised in the northern Chicago suburb, Round Lake. After discovering the piano in elementary school, he began taking lessons that would lead him to start writing his first music.
After playing in several garage bands, he discovered that his real strength was in composition. While playing percussion during high school, he began experimenting with synthesis and sequencing.
Ben attended a liberal arts college briefly, but discovered it was not for him. However, he was able to score his first film "The Reality of Life" (2002), during this period. He has since attended the "School of Audio Engineering" in Nashville, Tennessee, and scored a short film "The Confession of Johnny Black" (2004) for which he also contributed as a sound editor. Later, he worked as a sound editor on the short film "Fraus Fraudis Cerebrum" and for the 2005 television program "Southern Haunts" (also composing original music for the trailer).
