Biography

Kioumars Derambakhsh, born in Tehran in 1945, is a filmmaker, producer, writer, researcher, and the founder and president of the Association for Nature Communications in Paris. He has made more than 100 documentaries and feature films in European and Asian Countries since 1973. Derambakhsh has a great deal of experience in the domain of humanitarian films with such subject matters as ethnography and anthropology, children's sociology, environment, cultural heritage as well as movie graphy and has founded the Fish Eye Productions Institute with offices in Tehran and Paris. The Institute makes use of modern equipment to make films and is willing to participate in making documentaries in the Middle East and Central Asia. He is one of the few Iranian documentaries who are well-known at an international level. Attention to Iranian culture and traditions is the main feature of his films. His last film won special prize of jury from one of the most creditable documentary film festivals.
