Ruth Chase

Director Ruth Chase is from Venice, CA, and now lives and works in Nevada County. An Artist in Residence at Nevada County Arts Council, Ruth is lead artist of one of its flagship programs, "Belonging", thanks in part to a grant from the California Arts Council through its Artists in Communities Program. Ruth is the recipient of a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Los Angeles for Art in Action, as well as a grant from the Carl Jacobs Foundation for her seminal West of Lincoln project. She has been published in Huffington Post, LA Weekly, Voyage LA, and is a featured artist on The Dead Files for the Travel Channel. She has taught at the Crocker Art Museum, and is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute.
