Severin Eskeland

Biography

Severin Eskeland was born on Stord, a little island on the west coast of Norway. He started to make home movies from the age of 12, this mainly horror films as a result of "Friday the 13th: The final chapter" that made him sleepless for a long time. After working as a plumber for a couple of years his interest for making film grew, and he started film-school in 2001 in Oslo. During the next four years of studying he also acted in two feature films. "United" and "Svein og rotta". Several of his shortfilms has been screened at festivals in Norway, and also in other countries. "The chamber" was screened at the 2006 Screamfest in Los Angeles, a festival he returned to in 2009 and screened his first feature "Snarveien". "Snarveien" came from a script he had been working on for some time before he finally got a producer attached. The film premiered in Norway late july 2009, and has also been released internationally. "Lyst" is his latest feature-project which had it's norwegian premiere april 21.
