Born on an Iowa farm, Rod got into radio broadcasting and voice talent work at the early age of 19. He stayed in that industry for nearly ten years. In 1984 he began work as a freelance publicist for authors and entertainment projects. Rod has earned a reputation as one of the most successful and proficient publicists and guest bookers in the country. In 1991, Rod launched Adventures In Media, Inc. and in 1995 launched TalkGuests.com.
Over the years (nearly 30 now) Rod has developed strong working relationships with every major TV talk and news program on the air today. He regularly works with such prominent morning shows as NBC Today Show, ABC's Good Morning America, CBS This Morning and Fox and Friends. He also regularly books guests on such cable talk shows as Dr. Oz, Dr, Phil, and of other major programs. His popular guest and story booking service, TalkGuests.com, works with thousands of media outlets across North America,
1994 was a very big year for Rod. After a real-life experience with a bounty hunter, Rod decided to develop his first reality show, about the work of bounty hunters across the country. Titled American Bounty Hunter, it was picked up by Paramount Television in 1995, and in March of 1996 was broadcast on the [then] new cable network, UPN. His show was the public's very first look at the profession and was a front runner to other shows that have followed.
In 2012 Rod began developing his sixth reality show. Currently he is shopping his show about a mother and her four children who are in the bail bond business in Michigan. The show is tentatively titled Bond Girls will air in late 2014.
