Thora Mathiason

Born in Seattle, Washington to Gunnar and Gudny Matthiason. During high school in Ballard, WA, Thora was lead singer in many musicals and operas. A talent contest leads Thora to nightly coloratura soprano performances at the Paris Inn in Los Angeles. She also sang on NBC, CBS and KNX radio programs. Thora's Icelandic heritage drew her back to perform in Iceland and also for the Crown Prince of Denmark. A retired member of the Screen Actors Guild, Thora was a professional background singer on numerous movies and for Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. Thora has lived in Newport Beach since 1963 and enjoyed gardening, painting, family dinners, playing the piano and her cats
