Pilar was raised by her single mother with the support of her grandparents. Her work ethic crystallized at age 10 working in her family's restaurant, bussing tables and hosting. In junior high -inspired by 90210- she caught the acting bug and persistently plead with her mother to take her to a casting call in Los Angeles, where she was scouted by a talent agent. She began making the trek to Los Angeles for auditions and bookings, driven by her grandmother.
Despite her mother's misgivings, when she saw Pilar's passion in action during a performance of The Vagina Monologues -in a passionate, 20-orgasm rendition of "The Woman Who Loved to Make Vaginas Happy"- she gave her the seal of approval and off to Lalaland Pilar went.
