Biography

Cindy Wilson is a vocalist, songwriter and founding member of the dance-rock band, the B-52's. Formed in 1976 in Athens Georgia, the band released their first single "Rock Lobster" in 1978, which featured on their self-titled album in 1979. The song became one of their signature tunes and the album received positive reviews. In 1985, Cindy married Keith Bennett, successful advertiser and designer of the B-52's official band logo. That year Cindy's brother-Ricky devastatingly succumbed to complications related to AIDS. The B-52's took hiatus for a few years but reunited for the recording and release of the successfully received, 'Cosmic Thing' (1989), which featured the singles "Love Shack" and "Roam". In 1990, Cindy took sabbatical from the B-52's but rejoined the band in 1994.
