Biography

János Szász was born in Budapest in l958. He studied drama and stage direction at the Academy of Theater and Film Arts, and spent four important years at the National Theater Budapest. For the stage, he directed "Ghosts" by Henrik Ibsen, "The Deer King" by Carlo Gozzi and "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams. He has also directed films and TV Series. His long feature films are: Szédülés (1990), Woyzeck (1994) and The Witman Boys (1997). Szász also directed a documentary for the Shoa Foundation and Steven Spielberg: Eyes of the Holocaust (2000). The story of the childrens of the holocaust never was told this way before.
