Biography

Sandy S. Solowitz moved with his family to Los Angeles California when he was 2 yrs old. Having spent most of his life in Hollywood, and being a natural story teller, it was inevitable that Sandy become involved in "The Business". In speaking with Sandy it quickly becomes obvious that he has spent his whole life fascinated by the observation, and study of peoples behaviors. This has given him some unique insight into the the nuances of human interaction and relationships, which he truly enjoys translating onto the screen in both comedy, drama, and thrillers . His ability to bring out the meaning of a scene by finding the subtle, easily overlooked expression, cadence, or tone of an actor allow Sandy to draw the audience into the moments, and emotions that the director meant to share. Sandy was brought into the craft of editing by the well known editor Bud Smith, who has cut such classics as "Flash Dance", Karate Kid", and "The Exoricist". After assisting several editors, Sandy received the bulk of his editorial tutelage during his 9 years of assisting Film Editor Peck Prior. Sandy's breakthrough came on the Dana Carvey movie "Master of Disguise" for Adam Sandler's Happy Madison productions with Sony and Revolution Studios.
