Biography

Composer, songwriter ("Besame Mucho", "Nola", "Gotta Be This or That"), author, singer and publisher, a singer with the orchestras of Ben Bernie, Vincent Lopez, Paul Whiteman and Abe Lyman, and then a singer in night clubs and theatres between 1949 and 1952. He was a consultant for foreign songs for the Southern Music Company, and moved to Brazil in 1965. He joined ASCAP in 1942, and his other popular-song compositions include "Don't Wait Too Long", "Just a Little Bit South of North Carolina", "And So to Sleep Again", "I'd Be Lost Without You", "Amor, Amor, Amor", "It's All Over Now", "Too Many Times", "Hair of Gold (Eyes of Blue)", "Put That Ring on My Finger", "Waitin' For the Train to Come In", "Be Mine Tonight", "You're Breaking My Heart", "Call Me Happy", "You'll Always Be the One I Love", and "Let's All Sing a Song for Christmas".
