Biography

Jay received his Masters' Degree from the Arts, Entertainment and Media Management Department at Columbia College - Chicago (1994). For three semesters, he taught Computer Uses for Arts Managers, an undergraduate computer class. In 1993, He worked an internship at the MacArthur Foundation. He wrote his thesis after conducting a survey and studying information for the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies. In late 1994, Jay moved to Hollywood and started his career as an intern at Chanticleer Films. It was there that his first paying job came as the assistant to the Head of Production. At Chanticleer, he was drawn to the world of post production and eventually became their staff Post Production Supervisor in late 1995. In early 1997, Jay moved to New Line Cinema to work as a Post Production Coordinator. In late 1998, he was promoted to Post Production Supervisor. In 2002, he was again promoted, this time to Vice President of Post Production. In 2008, it was announced that Sex and The City and Four Christmases were to be his last films for New Line Cinema. Jay is now working as a freelance Post Production Supervisor. In 2010, he completed Garry Marshall's "Valentine's Day". In 2011, Jay completed his second film with Seth Gordon, "Horrible Bosses" and his second film with Garry Marshall, "New Year's Eve". In 2012, Jay completed his second film with director Adam Shankman on "Rock of Ages." In 2014, Jay worked with director Sean Anders on "Horrible Bosses 2" and in 2015 on "Daddy's Home." In 2016, Jay worked on Peter Atencio's (Key & Peele) "Keanu" and reunited with Seth Gordon on "Baywatch." In 2017, Jay worked again with Sean Anders on "Daddy's Home 2."
